Of Beetles and Angels
If you had to flee America today with your immediate family, several suitcases, and $100, where would you go? How would you get there? What would be your biggest challenges once you got there?
i would flee to america, and walk (beacause i dont have enough $ for a taxi) to a cheap hotel.i would work until i got enough $ for a home.then i would keep working until i have enough $ for school.i would keep working for food too.it would be hard to fit in and have enough money to survive. -ranya
I would go to America in boat. And as soon as I got here i would get a small job and look for a affordable place to live in my small budget. -varun koganti
I would walk to America and find any kind of shelter such as a cheap hotel, a little spot somewhere or a least anywhere.
I would get a job as soon as i could. Once i earned enough money and was doing well I would move to a better spot. Also,I would get a better education.
It would be really hard to just move there with your whole family and only a $100. It would also be really hard to find a job.
If I had to flee America today I would go to Mexico because Mexico is the closest place to San Diego that is not in America and I only had $100. I would drive to Mexico. My biggest challenges would be to make money/get a job and learn spanish. Keely Roche
My family and I would go to Canada because we have family there who could help us. We would drive there, then my biggest challenge would be finding a home and a school and a job for my parents. Eric P.
Life in the story Of Beetles and Angels would be tough. Coming all the way to America and then to have wait a whole nother year. Thawhot would be tough, espsily after coming across a desert and almost dying.
I agree with many of your comments. I could not imagine coming to a new country and having only $100 to live on. The language and culture alone are different and I would wonder if people would really accept me. I don;t even know if I would want to go to another country. As a refugee I would feel like a citizen without a country.
I would go to Mexico or Canada depending which is closer.I would first stay in a cheap motel and find an easy job.Once I have enough money I would live in a very cheap place. Some challenges I would face are not enough money, not able to speak the language, can't find a joband the hardest would be not having any friends and family. Jason
I would go to Japan I would want to learn about Japanese Anime. I could go to a shelter until I found a good paying job. I would spend the $100 wisely like for food and blankets for cold nights. I would feel like an outcast. --Ashlynn
I'd flee to Mexico and find a inexpensive hostel for my family to stay at. Since I live in San Diego and Mexico is only 30 miles away I'd drive our car across the border. My biggest challenges would be finding a job to support my family, and trying to communicate.
Many of you have discussed the challenge of communication with someone who is different than you culturally and with a different language. How might you over come this obstacle?
I would move to america and find a hotel and find a small job and make some money. then i'd find a house. After that I would buy some food then save up money for school. After school was over, I would quit my job and find a new one and earn more money and help my family. It would be hard but its worth it. -Andrew penner
if i was i have $100 and i am new to america i would find a place to sleep a cheap place than i would get a job and someone to help me to speak english and feed my family
If I fled to America, I would become a citizen and get a job. I'd have to pay for school. I'd buy a place to sleep, like a motel. When I get a job, I would try to save money to survive.
We would go to Europe, the UK to be exact. We have lots of friends who would let us stay with them. We would go by boat. with the $100.00 we would help buy food. My parents could get a job, because they worked for the Royal Air force before I was born. Sophie
“True Power comes from focusing on what we can give, not just on what we can take.
Of the gifts that we can give, the greatest is to see beauty in each other - in essence, to Give beauty to each other. When we give the beauty, we prepare our hearts to receive it back.
So be inspired by beetles and Angels
